2O24 FELT LIKE  a long distance race. The fight for reproductive justice is like that: it requires commitment, perseverance, creativity, patience, discipline, and the recognition that every step forward, no matter how small, brings us closer to our mission. Although the context was complex, we had concrete achievements that allowed us to advance in the mission we dreamed up more than 30 years ago and that we still carry forward today, alongside many organizations, collectives, allies, donors, and, above all, those who have allowed us to accompany them in their pursuit of justice.

The Olympics are not just the world’s largest sporting event; they represent perseverance, discipline, and the desire to push boundaries. Every four years, athletes from all corners of the globe inspire us by showing that, with perseverance and passion, the impossible becomes achievable. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, we saw stories of resilience, inclusion, and diversity that reminded the world that greatness is not measured solely in medals, but in the courage of those who defy personal and social barriers. At GIRE, we recognize that same spirit in the fight for reproductive justice. Just like a long-distance race, it requires constant preparation, resilience in the face of obstacles, and the certainty that every step counts. In 2024, we ran this race accompanied and inspired by Olympic commitment and tenacity, and we continue to advance toward a more just and equal future.
